The Great National Rugby League Intersite Tipping Challenge
The Great National Rugby League Intersite Tipping ChallengeIts time to kick some Kiwi arse!

Your Glorious League Freak has entered into what amount to nothing less than an NRL tipping war against our buddies from New Zealand at Sports Freak and the mad bastard Kiwi over at Blogging It Real.

Now, I dont want to over state things, but the collective pide of our nations lies on our shoulders, and it would take two Kiwi's to try and beat one Glorious Australian!

So here is the deal...

I'll be giving my upcoming tips on here every week and posting links to the results of the on going competition until its ultimate conclusion, at which point the winner, me, will stand at the summit of the mountain, basking in my own greatness, and the losers, well, they get to follow the Warriors.

So here we go....

Rabbitohs vs Roosters - Rabbitohs by 7
The Bunnies have had a longer pre-season and should be better balanced than the Roosters at this point in the season.

Titans vs Cowboys - Cowboys by 10
Opening a new stadium always tends to works against a side, the Cowboys will fire up infront of a big hostile crowd and win.

Eels vs Bulldogs - Eels by 8
The Eels are a more polished side and have more grunt up front. Will any of them be sobre for the match though?

Knights vs Raiders - Knights by 12
This one could already decide who wins the wooden spoon in 2008!

Sea Eagles vs Sharks - Sea Eagles by 12
The Sharks have a few injuries and a terrible record when playing at Brookie.

Broncos vs Panthers - Panthers by 4
The Panthers have a far better and more rounded lineup, while the Broncos look like a team that needs to rebuild.

Tigers vs Dragons - Dragons by 16
The Tigers have a few injuries and the Dragons have a few youngsters who's form will get them over the line.

Storm vs Warriors - Storm by 2
This will be the toughest game of the round but the Defending Champions class will shine through.

Round One Comment
Is it possible for Penrith to have a good season that also results in Matthew Elliott getting sacked? Fingers crossed!

So there we have it.

Ridiculously, it all resets after every World Cup. Or the WC doesn't count. One of the two.

Ref Willie Manu. Didn't Hayne play for Fiji in 2008 WC then tour with the Kangaroos 2009??

Solid buys. Finch is a handy play maker, Lima a good prop. Hoffman has had injury probs though.

Lima, Hoffman and Finch signed for Wigan next season back with Mcquire good buys or not

Hes not bad. Good mobility, gets stuck in. Doesn't mind playing in the middle of the field, unlike Gareth Ellis!

Freak - Have you seen and what do you make of young Flanagan that signed for the West Tigers from Wigan at the end of last year

Rich backers, the exchange rate and relaxed salary cap monitoring.

Fair enough, so why does SuperLeague have more cash than NRL? (if it's only played in grotty Northern towns in England?)

League Freak
03/11/2009 23:21
A Nation Comp means a bigger TV deal and bigger sponsorships. The NRL's deals are smaller because they don't have the national reach on a weekly basis.

Freak- why does AFL have more cash to lure players from league when there is absolutely no international scene?

To be honest all I know about him is that he is an assistant coach at Melbourne. He should be pretty good though.

Freak - what is the form of Micheal Mcguire who is supposed to be coming to replace Noble at Wigan as coach

You know, they can blame Smith all they want, they are just playing dumb, soft football.

Seems Kris Rads has been coaching his full back play at Wigan to great effect
