The 2013 nominees for the prestigious ken Stephen medal have been announced today. The medal is awarded to players to recognize work done in the NRL’s One Community program.
Every team except the South Sydney Rabbitohs are represented in the nominees list. The Rabbitohs chose not to nominate any individual player in their club.
It is great to see the game going out of its way to recognize the work done by players at the grassroots level of the game. The list of players up for the award are:

Dragons: Ben Creagh
Eels: Tim Mannah
Knights: Kurt Gidley
Sea Eagles: Joe Galuvao

Roosters: Jared Waerea-Hargreaves
Sharks: Ben Ross
Storm: Billy Slater
Titans: Nate Myles
Warriors: Steve Rapira
Wests Tigers: Lote Tuqiri
The winner will receive $5000 and will be able to nominate their favorite charity who will also receive $5000.
