So Joel Clinton is talking to a girl in Melbourne for some time and when he finds himself down there he hooks up with her in the teams hotel before the match against the Storm.
Two adults engaging in consensual sex, sounds normal.
However by doing this Clinton has breached the Brisbane Broncos club policy that must read something along the lines of “You can not bring a girl back to the team hotel before a game. Gangbanging her in a pub toilet is your better option”.
So Clinton didn’t do the right thing by team policy, but at the end of the day he hasn’t really done anything to write home about.
So why the fuck has Joel Clinton been fined $50,000 for this?
Were his actions a bit stupid considering the current climate? Yes. Players shouldnt even ben hinting to girls that they should come back to the team hotel in this current climate. But thats about where Clintons poor judgement ends, he has done nothing wrong outside of that one breach.
Now, Clinton has copped one of the biggest fines in the games history over this and has efecctivly been stood down for two games.
If we had a decent players association they would be all over this, and yet you don’t hear a peep from them.
Is this breach in team protocol is not worth a $50,000 fine, not even close. For all the stupidity and rotten behaviour we have seen in recent times, this fine far exceeds what is warranted.
This smacks of a club looking to force a player out. I’m no huge fan of Joel Clinton, I think he could be an ok player if he fixed a few porblems in his game. However the Broncos paid big money for him and much now have decided they want rid of him.
Obviously with the salary cap they can’t afford to pay him out and carry his salary figure for a few years. So you do the next best thing, piss him off until he decides to leave.

At the end of the day Joel Clinton should have been fined. But not $50,000.
