In some exciting news for the game, teenage sesnation Israel Folau has been called into the Australian Test team to replace center Justin Hodges who was ruled out today with an ankle strain.
Folau will become of of the youngest players ever to play Test football and will add to an amazing, young backline that includes Gasnier, Inglis, Stewart and Hayne.
It was only a matter of time before Folau made his test debut and I was surprised he missed out on the original squad. I’m certain he will be playing in next years World Cup for Australia and I think this is a great chance for him to get his footing in the Test arena.
I would expect him to play his first game on the wing with Greg Inglis moving into the centers.
In other New Zealand Test News Manly center Steve Matai has been cleared to play in the one of Test against Australia in just over a weeksn time althought he will not take part in the tour of Great Britain.
Meanwhile Fuifui Moimoi and Taniela Tuiaki have both been cleared to play for New Zealand by the RLIF and are likely to take part in the entire tour with the Kiwi’s.
While Moimoi will give the Kiwi’s even more punch in the forwards, its Tuiaki who’s selection is a real coup. A blockbusting winger who can very easily play in the forward pack, he will be a real assett for New Zealand as they continue to build a young, powerfull side heading into 2008.
