Look out Sydney, there is gonna be a group of tens of Roosters fans hitting the town hard tonight!
The Sydney Roosters have easily accounted for the Penrith Panthers in their qualifying final, running it in with a scoreline of 34-12.
Only 23,459 turned up on a perfect night in Sydney to watch this game, a terrible crowd!
The Roosters didn’t look like world beaters in this game. I thought their forwards were a bit lackluster and despite Channel 9 giving him the Man Of The match, I thought Mitchael Pearce was once again very poor in an important match.
They were helped along by a huge injury toll for Penrith. They had lost Frank Pritchard and Trent Waterhouse before the game, and DURING this match they lost Michael Jennings, Luke Lewis and Gavin Cooper at points during this match.
Despite all that, the Panthers found themselves down by only 12-0 at half time.
It was all looking over in early in the second half though.
The Roosters attacking plays, their set plays, their ability to work at the weaknesses in the Panthers defense was in stark contrast to the aimless, boring attack Panthers fans have become used to under Matthew Elliotts coaching.
Matthew Elliotts record in NRL Finals games now stands at 0-7.
