When Greg Inglis announced his immediate retirement from the NRL and the South Sydney Rabbitohs questions were raised about the affect on the Rabbitohs salary cap.
Inglis made it clear he would not be receiving the remainder of his salary for the remainder of the 2019 NRL season. This gives the Rabbitohs over a million dollars under the cap to look for a replacement for Inglis, but plenty of people either don’t feel like this is fair, or think something fishy is going on.
In episode 7 of the Fergo and The Freak podcast Andrew Ferguson and League Freak discuss the drama surrounding the Rabbitohs new found salary cap space, talk about a couple of possible replacements, and give their opinions on whether this is all above board, or if this should not be allowed by the NRL.
