The Brisbane Broncos should look to sign unwanted Australian Rugby Union Star Israel Folau if they want to add some attacking punch to their struggling backline in 2020.
Folau, who was sacked by Rugby Australia earlier this year for posts made on his instagram account, was barred from joining the NRL by chairman of the Australian Rugby League commission Peter Beattie.
With Beattie standing down from that position and Peter V’landys taking over, the door could be ajar for Folau to get clearance to join a Rugby League club ahead of the 2020 NRL season.
With the Brisbane Broncos having crashed out of the 2019 NRL Finals series with a record 58-0 loss to the Parramatta Eels at Bankwest Stadium, the Broncos are looking to re-tool their roster as the club looks to do a whole of club review.
Folau would bring much needed attacking firepower to a Broncos attack that at times looked pedestrian during the 2019 NRL regular season.
As Folau prepares for his legal stoush with Rugby Australia, a move back to the NRL would need to gain the green light from the Australian Rugby League commission.
