The teams have been selected. The referees have been told that both sides are cheating. Queensland drank some beer. New South Wales didn’t drink some beer. The stage has now been set for an epic conclusion to the 2013 State Of Origin series.
So, what would I like to see happen in this game. You know what, I might go and write about that on my….oh, I’m doing that already aren’t it?
1. A Brutal Opening 20 Minutes
With James Tamou back, I think the first quarter of the match will be huge for NSW. They need to get off to a great start. QLD need fight fire with fire to hold the Blues out. I want this game to be a war, and the opening 20 will hopefully set the tone for the rest of the match.
2. No Refereeing Controversies
I don’t want to think about them, I don’t want to hear from them, I don’t want to hear about them, I just want the 34 players that take the field to decide the game and never hear about the effect the whistleblowers had.
3. A Close Game
I don’t want to see a blow out. I want this match to go right down to the wire. Sure it won’t be good for anyone’s heart, but it would turn this series into an absolute classic!
4. A Huge Punch Up At Full Time
80th minute, game decided, I want see the type of epic, disgraceful fight that makes every whinging idiot I’m the media talk about taking their kids out of a sport they hate and wouldn’t let their kids play anyway.
5. A New South Wales Victory
C’mon, stop hogging the trophy you banana bending banjo players! You’ve had it for seven years now. There are kids that are going to school in New South Wales that have never seen a Blues series victory!
