The Sydney Roosters host Wigan on the 22nd of February in the first World Club Challenge match held in Australia since the 1997.
Wigan are putting everything they have into their preparation for this match. While they did lose fullback Sam Tomkins from their Grand Final winning team they did manage to pick up Matthew Bowen.
The Roosters meanwhile are said to be more focused on the World Club Challenge than the Auckland 9’s, so we should be in for a good contest.
There is not a great deal you can take from these World Club Challenge games. They are played at a weird time of the year and circumstances always heavily favour one side over the other. Still, it is a game of footy to watch, and that is enough for me!

I tend to think this match with be nothing short of a massacre. The Roosters at home will be too big, too strong and too fast. Through in the fact that Wigan have to travel across the world for this match and then the possibility they will have to deal with hot weather….and they are really on a hiding to nothing.
