The Parramatta Eels re-signing of Semi Radradra is great news, not only for the club, but for the game in general.
For Radradra to go from an unknown player just a couple of years ago to one that will earn over $1 million during the term of his four year contract is amazing. It is something that Rugby League can be very proud of.
The money that Radradra will receive is life changing. He has already spoken about the impact it will have on his family back home in Fiji. That financial impact is an area of the game that sometimes gets overlooked when a player signs a big contract. It is easy to get dazzled by the big numbers thrown around, but its easy to forget that for most players these big contracts are a way for them to support their extended family.
Radradra has been sensational for the Eels in 2014. His barnstorming style has been a real handful for opposition teams and at times he has looked absolutely unstoppable.
It is great news that the Eels have been able to lock him up to a long term deal. They are quietly putting together a team of very hand players.
