The Sharks week from hell has ended on a high with the dailytelegraph announcing the club has landed a major sponsor for the rest of the season in the form of Labour Health.
I’m sure NO ONE sees the irony in the Sharks attracting a company that specialised in drug and alcohol testing in the work place.
The deal is reported to be worth six figures and will cover the front of the Sharks jersey for the rest of the season.
Although it’s a short term deal, it may extend into next season. It may also follow the direction of former major sponsors Fisherman’s Friend and Shark Energy in moving to a lower level sponsorship next season.
Interestingly, the deal was entered in to after the Todd Carney decision made on Sunday evening.
The new sponsor will be printed on the jersey in time for the club’s Saturday night clash with the high flying Roosters.
Great news for Sharks fans, and easy joke material for those looking to erm, take the piss.
Farah As Good As Smith?
Interesting comments from Robbie Farah earlier indicating he believes that he may be as good as Cam Smith.
Although I believe Smith to still be the better player, the gap is closing.
Farah has been immense for the Tigers this season and played a big part in getting the blues across the line in the Origin series with his defence.
Croker Called Into Origin Squad
Canberra flyer Jarrod Croker has been rewarded with his strong club form with a call up into the NSW Origin Squad.
He has, without doubt, been one of the two bright sparks for Canberra this season. The other of course being the form of Anthony Milford.
