Greg Bird could find himself in hot water after being accused of grabbing Penrith Panthers forward Sika Manu by the testicles in the second half of the Panthers 14-12 victory over the Titans on Monday Night.
The incident, which occurred late in the second half, saw Manu lash out at Bird and subsequently draw a penalty while in obsession. While it was clear to hear Panthers players pleading with the referee to go upstairs and review the incident, the on field officials chose to go with their first instinct to penalize Manu for striking.
Greg Bird has been in fantastic form so far this season. He would normally be one of the first players selected for Australia and for New South Wales with the form he is showing. This may be an issue for him though. It will be interesting to see if he ends up with a case to answer at the NRL judiciary.
