Parramatta Eels fullback Jarryd Hayne and South Sydney Rabbitohs forward Sam Burgess are leading the Dally M points count after 15 rounds.
It is a great effort by Jarryd Hayne in particular when you consider he has missed two NRL games leading into State Of Origin 1 & 2.
The current Dally M points leaders are:
18 Points: Jarryd Hayne, Sam Burgess
17 Points: Ben Hunt
16 Points: Johnathan Thurston
15 Points: Josh Reynolds, Gareth Widdop
14 Points: Daly Cherry-Evans
12 Points: Chris Sandow, Robbie Farah
This would be the first time in a long time that a Dally M leaderboard didn’t have at least one Melbourne Storm player in it.
It is great to see Gareth Widdop up there among the leaders. He took a big change moving from the Storm to the Dragons and while the Red V may be struggling this season Widdop has shown he is a top class playmaker who can lead a team in his own right.
If I had to put money on who will win it, I’d be going with Hayne. Yes it is a boring pick but the journalist that vote on the points love Hayne.
