The drawn out saga over where Lote Tuqiri will be up playing may finally be resolved by next week as South Sydney prepared to table an offer on the same day the australian rugby union has set a deadline for the former League winger to sign a contract offer they have made him.
In the last couple of weeks the Brisbane Broncos, Sydney Roosters and Cronulla Sharks have pulled out of the race.
The general feeling is that Tuqiri want to go back to League as he is frustrated playing such a boring game at the moment in rugby union, but that the extra money available in union will keep him in the lesser code for the rest of his career.
Its obvious Souths are working hard to get him and it would be good if they did sign him. He’d be the first true star Souths have signed for a long, long time.
Still, with suck a large chunk of salary cap space taken on one player, a winger who you’re hoping can play fullback, it might be for the best if they don’t get him.
Either way, I think pretty much every is over the carry on of yet another player shopping himself around like this.
