New Zealand Warriors fullback Kevin Locke has only been rated a 50/50 chance to take on the Sydney Roosters this weekend with a hip injury still bothering him.
Locke was named in the Warriors lineup on Tuesday with the team hopeful he would continue to improve through the week, but it seems those hopes were a bit too optimistic.
The injury Locke suffered to his hip was a strange one. It occurred with no one near him as he turned to chase a ball while defending at fullback. Glen Fisiiahi has filled in brilliantly at the back for the Warriors in Locke’s absence and you can understand why Locke would want to get his number one jersey back as soon as possible.
The Warriors have played well over the last month but will go into their match against the Sydney Roosters as big underdogs. A win would bring the Warriors right back into finals calculations after a diabolical start to the season.
