The Parramatta Eels are chasing South Sydney Rabbitohs backup hooker Nathan Peats as the club looks to continue it’s rebuilding efforts.
Peats would require an early release from his Rabbitohs contract but would be a fantastic buy for Parramatta.
The Eels have been linked to Penrith Panthers hooker Kevin Kingston but according to the Sydney Morning Herald they may have missed their man.
When the Eels made the decision to release so many players from their current squad they were always going to struggle to fill their roster in 2014. After missing out on a number of their higher profile targets the Eels are now having to look at players like Peats who are good, but who need an opportunity to further their career.
Ricky Stuart has been tough on the Eels squad since joining the club. You have to question if he has gone too far though. Dropping Chris Sandow this weekend will not do anything for the Eels or for Sandow, while a number of the current side look to have given up following the Eels decision to release them at seasons end.
What ever the case, Nathan Peats would be a great signing. He is a player I rate highly and a player that would give the Eels a piece of the puzzle they currently don’t have.
