St Helens have “captured” the signature of Penriths Tony Puletua in what is a huge relief for Penrith.
Penrith has been looking to offload Puletua for about a year now because of his poor, inconsistant form and his big contract.
Puletua is contracted with Penrith until the end of 2009 and while no other NRL clubs would take him on board (Even though Penrith offered to pay part of his contract) it seems St Helens were more than happy to sign him up.
Puletua can be a monster when he is playing well. The problem is I could count on one hand how many times he has actually played well in the last five years.
If you’re lucky you get one good run out of him a game, however most of the time he plays very soft and very lazy.
Having said that, he’ll probably do well in Super League. The lack of defense is always good for below average NRL players and the lazy training and playing standards will be right up his ally.
Now if only Penrith could get a Super League club stupid take take Matthew Elliott and Matt Adamson off their hands…
In other Super League news, Cath Hetherington has managed to get her head on TV and talked up the shopping list Hull FC has.
Like all Super League club, Hull don’t develop players, they but them from Australia and New Zealand.
Hetherington stated the club was in the market for a prop and a halfback, other a standoff, a couple of centers, some back rowers and a coach would also be handy additions, if you get my drift.
One of the funnier things about the interview was the suggestion that Hetherington was involved in designing the next Hull FC jersey. Thankfully she could be flown in from the UK, because black and white hoops can be really hard to work out!
