Despite going down 18-16 against Wales, Scotland has secured a place in the 2008 Rugby League World Cup due to having a superior for and against record.
Scotland looked the more desperate to win throughout the match but at half time they found themselves down 14-4.
Had Wales held onto that 10 point lead, they would have been the ones going to the World Cup, but the spirit on show from the Scotland team saw them fight their way back into the game.
Wales looked lethargic throughout with Iestyn Harris having a poor game and Lee Briers making a number of mistakes.
On the flip side, Scotland’s Danny Brough was involved in everything and was the most dangerous player on the field.
So Scotland are through to the World Cup while Wales have to battle it out for try and secure the last place in the tournament.
Wales will play Lebanon next weekend and the winner of that game will go on to face either the United States or Samoa for the right to take that 10th and final place in the World Cup.
