Sky Sports UK has announced that it will show every game of next years World Cup including five qualifying games to be played next month. Its great news for fans in the UK as there have been rumours recently that Sky was looking to donwgrade its involvement in Rugby League.
They join Channel 9 in Australia as the two major broadcasters of next years World Cup so far.
There have been some good signs ahead of next years World Cup with the surprsing draw between Papua New Guinea and the Australian Prime Ministers XIII, a close fought game between the Junior Kangaroos and a quickly improving Fiji two weeks ago, and last weeks huge win by Tonga over the same Junior Kangaroo’s side.
The IRLF have announced that tickets will go on sale soon and I would suggest to anyone that wants to attend the World Cup that you should get in as early as possible as tickets will be pretty much impossible to get for the big games as the World Cup closes in.
I have to say I’m getting a little impressed with how things are going so far. I really hope things don’t come crashing down but I guess until we see how many rorts we see as far as the eligibility rules go with World Cup squads its hard to get overly optimistic.
